Hair cut site/ideas?

I want to cut my hair shorter. I love my long hair, but it gets really annoying and heavy. i want to get it cut above my shoulders, or to my shoulders, and not to short. Does anyone have a really good site with a bunch of hair cuts at that length. i want it to be light, and younger looking. (i'm 16) i want layers and side bangs, i think. i want a picture when I go get it cut. so sites, pictures, or descriptions!

It totally depends on the person, long hair can look very elegant on an older lady (not that 40 is old at all, but you know what I mean) as long as it is healthy and well kept, when it gets bushy and grey then it can look a bit ungroomed. If long hair suits your face and body then keep it long. I don't suit long hair, it makes me look old, so mine is getting chopped for Christmas, hope you love your new hair!

Many sites/products will claim they have the answer but they don't. Just make sure your not completly knocking protein out of your diet and your hair will grow healthy. Hair is made out of protein and sulfur I believe. I have seen supplements in stores for hair and nail growth. They won't make your hair grow faster, but they will make your hair more healthy.... however you can obtain the same results by simply making sure your getting protein. (More is not better or worse, just the recomended daily amount will do)

Wow! How many people answering this question have great hair that's almost 3 feet long? I do! And let me tell you, you're getting some inaccurate answers!

The best way to grow hair longer is NOT to trim it often -- and when you do, trim very little! I trim my only one-half inch every 3 months.

Beauty salons always take off too much. So get a trusted friend to sparingly trim your hair. Or learn to do it yourself in front of a mirror -- like I do.

I found that the best conditioner for dry ends is Pantene- type: Daily Moisture Renewal. It's better than the more expensive ones. (Really.)

i would go to someone else...call and complain, talk to the owner or manager or someone above her...and go somewhere else...find a friend who reccomends someone...but from now on just ask for trims tell the person your trying to grow it out and make sure they show you how much they plan on taking off and watch them while they do it...i'm sorry that happened to you...i've had that happen to some clients i've gotten and its so hard for them to trust a stylist again...but with those people i try to take as little as possible off so they don't freak out...if you lived in Michigan i would say come to me next time you need a haircut and i would be happy to help!!

First of all do not just let it grow. You should always keep getting it trimed. Just let your hair dresser know!

~~ If it was just the layers that were too short, have him/her graze the layers when they get dry and start to split and trim length 1/2 inch to 1 inch every 6-8 weeks.

~~If it is all over too short you need to keep the neck line short as the rest grows down to meet it or you will get a mullet. GOD FORBID! You should still graze trim layers. You will need to trim at least neck line every 3-4 weeks.

~~Good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle make hair grow fast. Vitamins help. Summer hair grows faster so the weather is working agianst you. Scalp massage or brushing with a cushion brush will stimulate blood circulation and oil secretion. This creates an ideal scalp environment for optimal hair growth and healthy hair!

Well..you could try oiling it...here's a great therapy that i use myself...not only will it make your hair grow, but will also make it soft and shiny! take some dried fenugreek seeds, put them in a clean bottle..on top of the seeds, pour one part castor oil, one part almond oil, and one part white sesame oil. shake the bottle well, and let it stand for a day or two....then, whenever you want to wash your hair....just heat the oil a little, massage into your hair and scalp, leave it on overnight, and shampoo as usual the next morning......and don't forget to use a good conditioner! you'll see the difference almost immediately. and oh.....please make sure u use WHITE sesame oil, if that's not available, use coconut oil.

i dont know.. maybe the style wax would work.. i think any gel though, if you put a lot of it, will do the trick.. brand doesnt really matter when it comes to hair gels.. a medium priced one should be just fine

I'm not sure if this will help or not but I never had any luck with gels. My hair has always been hard to control. I have had some really good luck with styling pastes though. Revlon puts out one that works really well but it can be a littly pricy. I use one by Fructis and it works pretty good, I can style my hair pretty much anyway I want with it.

You can get a cheap gel that works great(i use it). it is called LA BELLA and get the yellow one. Or get an expensive gel that runs out easily(i used it but it CO$T alot) its called Got To Be Glued its really hard. us a brush and comb it back.

I dont know if this helps but if you like the soft shiny wet slicked look try old fashiond brylcream . Ive chatted to a few women before into this look and the said brylcream was much better as they didnt like the hard set look and 1 also said gels gave her dandruff too. 7. Get enough sleep [7-9hrs], hair grows the fastest when you're at rest.

It does depend on how long it is right now. If your hair is still relatively short, then you should use gel. But, if your hair is at the point where it's basically covering your forehead, then you should be using pomade or wax for definition and a more styled look.

There isn't a lot you can do. A hairdresser did this to me years ago when I was 20 and I felt strange and just had to live with it. I didn't have the face for it, long and wide, even though I was tall and thin, I didn't think it suited me at all. Now you have more options - extensions, hair pieces. Someone mentioned a hat. Wearing it very straight probably would call less attention to it than wearing it curly. Maybe a wide hairband would take the attention away of it.

Well, unfortunately, if you cannot get extensions, you are just going to have to let it all grow back in again, sorry. Just focus on keeping your hair healthy by conditioning it with a conditioner that works well with your hair and just keep it clean. But anyways, on with the answer, you should just get hair extentions, but make sure you go to a different stylist. I get them when i think my hair is just too short, and its only about 200 bucks. but they last for about 4 months! Good luck with your hair!

I went to a student salon where I had to sign an agreement not to sue if they screwed up. It would be more worth your while to go to a different salon and see what they can do about extensions.

If you are still upset you can speak to the manager and they will gladly issue some sort of credit rather than allow you to make a big stink of it all.

If the palce is privately owned then ask to speak to the shop owner, they will usually go out of their way to make you happy.

Just remember, if you walk in there with a bad attitude you will most certainly get one back.

The ends of my hair were in a bad way due to hair dye but I feel as if I have been scalped! Should I go back and say something...I doubt there is much that they can do! You could try extensions otherwise maybe go back to the salon and ask them if they have any ideas on how to make the hairstyle work for you in the meantime - it may take a bit to get used to it. They may also have some tips eg. products or using bobby pins,just styling the new cut in a different way. there's many proucts u can use to give volume. try a root lifter and blow upside down then bump ends w/ a curling iron. also, highlight w/ foils just around face...it'll create illusion of longer hair... sorry but you really get what you pay for... In 2002 I became a part-time student and started growing it again, as I did in the 70s. When it got long enough I started tying back in a pony tail so. from the front, it looks like short back and sides, or at least short sides. I've had it trimmed a few times since, to tidy it up and remove split ends, but now I feel like getting it all chopped off. It will be much easier to manage, saving time in the bathroom and in picking up hairs from the floor.

OK, I've probably made up my mind but opinions would be welcome. I've told myself before that it's got to go but never got around to it. Tomorrow I have some free time ...

shower, shampoo and condition (dont skip the conditioner! you will be sorry later) if you want you can use a straightening shampoo and conditioner,herbal essances has a cheap one,

then when your hair is semi damp.(towel dryed) apply straighten cream, i find that creams work better than serums, and a little spritz of leave in conditioner, now blowdry your hair in sections with a round brush (sometimes called a straightening brush) use heat, it wont turn out as well if you use cool air, you going to want to pull straight down with the brush, and not put the blowdryer in from of your face and dance (that just makes it poofier, thats what i do for my thin hair) when it is totaly dry, use some hairspray (just a little) to tame flyaways.
