I used to have long hair now its medium to short...?

last year i had grown my hair out and now that iam in JROTC %26amp; Baseball for highschool i had to cut my hair desently short.

When i had long hair i would wash it every other day and condishion it every day.

well now i do the same washing and condishioning but my hair isn't as shinny and doesn't have the movment i want!

i know my long hair had a longer range of movement but my hair is just long enough for me to headbang but after a few hours after the shower my hair loses its movment and decomes dull.

u know after u take a shower and you shake ur hair dry thats how i want my hair to be all day. my long hair was like that and my medium length hair doesn't do that like my longer hair!

any suggestions
