Have you ever had really long hair cut dead short would I regret it if I did?

I cut it really short when I was in my late teens, just wanted a really dramatic change and no, it didn't look great but I also dont regret it because I know what it feels like now to have that dramatic change and I also know not to do it again. Important points to keep in mind:

1) Your hair looks great as it is

2) Long hair is much more feminine

3) The wig idea is a very good one!

4) It really is fun to change hair dramatically - it will grow back if you don't like it; a lot does depend on how upset you may be if you really don't like it and miss your old length. But you only live once!

yes, ive done that and i hated it. i dont think you should. from your display picture, your hair looks really pretty. i wouldnt cut it if i were you.

my sister and dad did (yes my dad, he used to have rely long nice wavey hair) they bot hregreted it, it never grew back the same, i had mine cut up slowly, now its level with my shoulders and it grows back the same way

have it cut gradualy and it should be better if it grows long again after.

i just cut 10 inches off my hair and donated it to locked of love. i don't like the way my hair looks but the feeling that some little kid out there is going to get a new head of hair makes me smile. it's just hair isn't it? it ill grow back.

when i was younger i had hair so long it touched my bum then i got a short bob!! big change and it does take you a while but got for it so mch easier to deal wih and it will grow back

Well, I never had short hair. I always had long/medium hair so I dunno.

But my sister tryed cutting her hair in short layers and she screwed up her hair and had to cut it really short. She cried about it all day.

I let my husband use a set of clippers on my hair and cut it from 36 inches (from the crown) to1/2 an inch after I had my babies as they kept getting their fingers tangled in it.

REALLY liberating - cost me a fortune in styling products though!!!

Go for it - or get a wig and try that for a while to see how you and other people react to it.

it used to be like bellow my hips and past my bum

and i my mum made me get it cut like just bellow my chin

i cryed and cryed

and i cant get that length back :[

sometimes you do because when you have short hair, your hairstyles are limited, so sometimes you see this really cool hairstyle you want to do but cant because of your short hair, but in summer time when its really hot, you wish you had short hair.

mine use to go down to my hips. i cut it to my shoulders, that way it is still alittle long but its also not so hot

i did it about a month ago. from hair to the centre of my ribcage to below my chin.

it was the best thing i have ever done. its absalutly feminine (that was my biggest fear) and it is so incredibly sexy! guys love running thier fingers trough it and playing with it. it has totaly fitted into my style.

ofcourse at first i was terrified to look in the mirror, but that lasted 30 minutes.
