I cant decide if I should cut my hair shorter?

Im getting my hair cut tommorow.

My hair is pretty long, its almost a foot long I think.Its all one length. Its a pain to style. It literally takes me an hour to curl it.More if I want to straighten it.

Im so used to my long hair im afraid to get it cut off. I would only cut off about three inches.

Should I go for it? Or keep it long?

NO!

Please do not cut your hair like that! Not that it doesn't look good, which it does, but that type of hairstyle is astronomically harder to style than the one it sounds like you currently have!

I had hair just like you, and you're right, it does take a bit of time to style- but trust me, the chance of the hairdresser messing up a haircut like the picture you've shown, with that many layers, is very high.

And even if you get it done right...

I got my nice, long hair (which also grows fast, but not fast enough!) cut into a style just like the one shown, but perhaps a little bit longer. It will look funny if the layers are too short, and it will be more likely to fall flat and will made it harder to make any style hold. Trust me, you might think more layers = more volume, but not without insane amounts of hairspray, which will ruin your hair.

My advice: go with a style in between. Add some layers, but longer ones, and maybe a nice set of bangs. Other than that, I wouldn't take too much length off, and I would definitely avoid the choppy, messy layers.

It's a good style, but will be hard to manage and will look funny when it's growing out. Mine still isn't right 2 years later!

Also, try to cut down style time when straightening your hair by brushing it dry right out of the shower. it will keep it from getting frizzy and curling- just give it an occasional brush as you do your homework, or watch TV.

Oh, and NEVER get a perm! Been there, done that too, it sucked.

I liked it a lot. Ithad more volume(not outrageous), it was easier to sytle also

yeah. go for it. your head will feel soo much lighter! my hair is to the middle of my back almost to my hips and last year i got about a foot cut off..it felt sooooo goood!! but no im not omish or amish whatever.. i just wanted 2 c how long i could get it! but take your freind and like put ductape over your mouth so you wont say anything and let her do it for you bcuz she won the bet
