I don't want my hair any shorter so what could i do to make it look a little better, besides going to the salon???

You need to have it blended in...You really should go to a salon...blending is not something you can handle doing on yourself.There are plenty of low cost salons or even your local cosmotology school.

go to a salon trust me if u try to fix it u will probably regret it and chances are if u go to a salon they will find a way not to take much length off and usually they wont charge you full price since its not a like a full haircut but it just depends who it is.

Bite the bullet and go to a professional. If it looks like a chili bowl now, what on earth makes you think you can fix it yourself. I am not being mean, just stating the obvious. You can trim ends yourself and be relatively safe that you won't mess up your hair but to try to cut it into a style is not wise. I am a hairdresser and salon owner and have been for more than 15 years and I don't attempt to cut my hair if I'm changing styles. I do trim my ends but that's all.

When my wife gets her hair cut, after the initial cut with the clippers she has a bowl cut, but then the stylist blends it all in and she winds up with an attractive short back and sides cut.
