You know I don't really know, but my mom is in her 40's and she wanted to cut her hair short. She even uses gel to make her hair stick up! Maybe they are tired of worrying about how their hair looks. I don't know, but it does seem wierd. My mom's old friends don't even recognize her anymore. They are so used to her having long hair. But I must say she does look a lot better.

its very easy , there are two main reasons :

one : they feel that they have already take their lives and live their lives as they really enjoy enough.

second : they are so tired and get bored from cleaning the long hair , and it takes them a long time , as they are really want to use the rest of their time in other important things

There's a certain age for women where long hair just looks like we're trying to desperately cling to some non-existent youth.

This doesn't apply to ALL women. For example Cher looks fantastic with long hair. I mean, can you even imagine Cher with a bob or some other short haircut? Of course not. Her long hair defines her. But for the majority of women there is a certain age, that varies with the woman but is typically in her 30's where long hair just looks bad on her. It may have a lot to do with having kids. The last thing you want to have to do as a Mom is have "Junior" grab a handful of long hair and rip it out by the roots, besides, Moms usually don't have time to fix long hair. For women who are not Moms, it's a sign of maturity. It says, I'm old enough to not have to rely on my hair as a social security blanket, but young enough to still have fun with it.
